The music Hank Moody listens to

“Every time I finish a book – whiskey, weed, and Warren Zevon. It’s the little things.” – Hank Moody

Throughout the series Hank refers to Warren Zevon plenty of times. If you listen to Zevon for some time, I’m sure you know why Hank likes his music so much – it’s dark yet somewhat humorous. Californication soundtracks include Zevon’s songs like “Mohammed’s Radio”, “My Shit’s Fucked Up”, “Wanted Dead or Alive”, “For My Next Trick, I’ll Need A Volunteer”.

His best-known compositions include “Werewolves of London”, “Lawyers, Guns and Money”, “Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner” and “Johnny Strikes Up the Band”, all of which are featured on his third album, Excitable Boy (1978).

Warren Zevon died of cancer on September 7, 2003, in Los Angeles, California. His final album The Wind was released on August 26, 2003.
